Certification: All PAs are required to possess current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Recertification is required every 2 years. In order to remain certified, PAs must complete 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and take a recertification examination every 6 years. Licensure: In addition to NCCPA certification, a license as a PA from a U.S. State, the D.C., Commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction is required (personal services) or the State in which the MTF is location (non-personal services). Actively practicing as a Board Certified Physician Assistant for the past three (3) years.
